Background
Marc Canarick graduated from Washington University in St. Louis's Olin Business School in 2014, earning a B.S.B.A. (magna cum laude) with a concentration in Finance and Mathematics. He began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Consumer & Retail Group at RBC Capital Markets.
In 2016 he joined Palladium Equity Partners, a New York–based middle-market private equity firm founded in 1997 that is one of the largest minority-owned PE firms in the U.S. and is known for investing behind the U.S. Hispanic consumer. As an investment associate (later Senior Associate) there, Canarick worked on control-oriented buyouts across Palladium's core sectors and held board-level roles at portfolio companies including Fora Financial and CircusTrix Holdings.
He subsequently moved into operating roles in the startup world: he served as Corporate Development Manager at Pager (a virtual-care / healthcare navigation company, now Pager Health), where he also authored company blog content on healthcare and AI. He then joined Ontra, a legal-tech / contract-automation company serving private markets, where he is currently Senior Director, Strategy.
Note on the stub data: the email ([hidden]) and phone reflect his tenure at Palladium and are likely dated given his subsequent moves to Pager and Ontra. His career is rooted in institutional private equity and corporate strategy/development rather than a documented personal angel-investing practice.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- At Palladium Equity Partners, the mandate is middle-market control investments (leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, growth equity) rather than seed-stage angel checks.
- Palladium's sector concentration: consumer & food, healthcare, business services, industrials, financial services, and media, frequently with a thesis around serving the fast-growing U.S. Hispanic market.
- Canarick's own operating expertise spans corporate development / M&A and strategy — useful lenses for evaluating companies in healthcare technology and private-markets / fintech software (reflected in his moves to Pager and Ontra).
- The stub's framing of him as an angel investor writing seed checks is not corroborated by primary sources; treat "Angel Investors / Seed Round" as an unverified database label, not a confirmed personal thesis.
Notable Investments
- Fora Financial — small-business lending / working-capital finance company; Canarick served as a board member (Palladium portfolio company).
- CircusTrix Holdings, LLC — operator of trampoline/adventure parks (later Sky Zone); Canarick served as a board member (Palladium portfolio company).
