Marcelo Diaz Bowen

Marcelo Díaz Bowen is a Chilean serial entrepreneur and venture investor with more than two decades of experience in venture capital, innovation management, and building early-stage companies across Latin America and beyond. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Kaszek Ventures — the largest and most prominent venture capital firm in Latin America — where he oversees firm operations. In parallel he is the Founder and Managing Partner of WeBoost VC, a Santiago-based early-stage fund he co-founded in 2019.

His earlier career was built inside Chile's startup-ecosystem institutions. He was CEO/manager of IncubaUC, the business incubator of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and served as President of the board of ChileIncuba, the country's national association of incubators. He has held general-partner roles at multiple venture vehicles, including Scale Capital VC, and earlier roles connected to InverSur Capital and Telefónica's Amerigo Fund. He is also a co-creator of Digital Bank LatAm, one of the region's largest fintech competitions, and created "El Domo," a startup documentary-reality TV series.

Beyond Latin America, Díaz has extended his reach into the Middle East as a General Partner / Senior Advisor at Ibtikar Fund, an early-stage VC fund focused on the MENA region (notably the Palestinian/Gaza startup ecosystem), and has spoken at events such as Startup Grind Gaza and MENA Catalyst.
