Background
Mario Feghali is Chief Innovation Officer at Storable and co-founder of SpareFoot, the self-storage marketplace that became part of Storable. Storable’s own history says SpareFoot began in 2008 after Feghali and Charles “Chuck” Gordon, then UCLA students, struggled with a storage need and created an online self-storage marketplace.
Feghali studied Psychobiology at UCLA, graduating in 2009. Public biographies also list early UCLA roles as a Research Assistant at the Brain Atlas Center and a Teaching Assistant in the California Teach Program.
SpareFoot relocated to Austin and participated in the first Capital Factory accelerator class. Silverton Partners’ portfolio page describes SpareFoot as the “world’s largest marketplace for moving and storage” and notes it was acquired by Cove Hill Partners in 2018; Storable’s history says SpareFoot, SiteLink, and storEDGE joined forces in 2018 to create Storable.
In 2019, Feghali became Chief Innovation Officer at Storable. His role is tied to reimagining technology for the self-storage industry and Storable’s broader specialty real-estate platform across storage, marine, RV, and campground operators.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Public investor databases list Feghali as an angel/individual investor focused on pre-seed and seed-stage companies.
- His public portfolio suggests a preference for practical, vertical or workflow-heavy software and marketplaces rather than broad horizontal consumer apps.
- A recurring pattern is fragmented offline industries being pulled into better digital marketplaces or operating systems: self-storage with SpareFoot/Storable, RV parks with RoverPass, tennis instruction with MyTennisLessons, MedTech sales with MedScout, and live-music operations with Prism.fm.
- His self-storage comments point to a long-tail operator thesis: in a fragmented industry, aggregators can help smaller operators compete online.
- Co-investors and portfolio context suggest Austin/Texas networks matter, including Capital Factory, LiveOak, Silverton, Chuck Gordon, and other Austin angels.
