Mark Redshaw

Mark Redshaw is an Investment Director and a founding member of the Evonik Venture Capital team, the corporate venture arm Evonik Industries launched in 2012 with a fund that has since grown to roughly €400 million and made around 55 direct and fund investments. He focuses on the fund's Sustainable Nutrition, Healthcare Solutions, and Specialty Additives themes, and represents Evonik on the boards of HPNow, OPTIfarm, and Vivasure, and as a board observer at In Ovo.

Before moving into venture investing, Redshaw spent the bulk of a career of roughly two-and-a-half decades inside Evonik's Nutrition & Care business. His operating roles there included responsibility for sustainability, leading Evonik's global Animal Nutrition Services, and running the operative business across Africa and the Middle East — experience that grounds his thesis work in the economics and supply chains of feeding a growing population.

Redshaw studied agriculture at the University of Reading (UK) and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham, an academic background in agricultural science that maps directly onto his sustainable-nutrition and animal-health investment focus. He describes himself as passionate about "sustainable solutions that feed and keep the world's growing population healthy."
