Matthew Venturi

Matthew B. Venturi is a four-decade Wall Street veteran who leads Venturi & Company LLC, a middle-market investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring, private placements, strategic alliances, and corporate-finance advisory. His career began at Merrill Lynch & Co. (1979–1983), where he moved from corporate intern into sales and capital-markets roles, including the Corporate Syndicate desk.

He spent roughly 12 years at Salomon Smith Barney, where he served as Managing Director of the Western Region Emerging Growth Group and as a senior member of the Financial Restructuring Group, developing a proprietary franchise-finance program, asset-backed financing initiatives, and a High Yield Debt Financing Group. From 1998 to 2001 he was the Managing Director responsible for Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin's investment banking efforts in San Francisco, where he helped stand up the firm's Technology Banking Group and cross-border capabilities and sat on its Investment Banking, Finance, and Strategic Alliance committees.

Venturi is now best known as the Founder and CEO of ClearingBid, Inc., a fintech he launched to modernize the IPO market. ClearingBid bills itself as "the world's first and only IPO network," using a pricing algorithm and digital orderbook to open new-issue investing to all qualified investors through their brokers, drive market-based pricing, and produce more equitable share allocations. The company holds multiple granted patents and is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.

He holds a BS in Commerce from Santa Clara University and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business, and he is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) with the Turnaround Management Association.
