Background

Michael Greene is Co-CEO and Managing Partner of AE Industrial Partners, a Boca Raton, Florida–based private investment firm specializing in aerospace, defense, space, national security, and specialty industrial sectors. He has overall responsibility for managing the firm, with a focus on negotiating, executing, and monitoring portfolio investments, and he sits on the firm's Investment Committee. Greene joined AE Industrial in 2008.

Before AE Industrial, Greene spent nearly two decades in institutional investing at UBS, working at UBS Capital Americas, LLC and UBS Capital, LLC from 1990 to 2008, where he led the General Industrial Group. He was a founding partner of the non-investment-grade debt and equity businesses at Union Bank of Switzerland (the predecessor to UBS AG) and was a principal architect of the firm's internal investment-review and monitoring processes — experience that informs AE Industrial's disciplined approach to underwriting and portfolio oversight.

Greene currently serves on the boards of AE Industrial portfolio companies including Moeller Aerospace and Redwire. His prior board roles include BHI Energy (sold to Westinghouse Electric Company in 2022) and ENERCON (sold to Oaktree Capital Management in 2023). Outside the firm, he has served as a Trustee of the College of the Holy Cross and Chairman of its Endowment Investment Committee.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from the College of the Holy Cross.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests in market-leading companies across aerospace, defense, space, national security, government services, power generation, and specialty industrial markets, where the firm can apply deep sector knowledge and operating experience.
  • Focuses on control investments in critical "toll gates" across aerospace and defense supply chains — businesses positioned to scale production to meet rising demand (per the Fund III strategy).
  • Leverages the firm's stated edge: "decades of experience, specialized industry expertise, and deep network of relationships that extend throughout our target markets" (David Rowe, Co-CEO, on the Fund III close).
  • The broader AE Industrial platform deploys across private equity, growth, venture, and aerospace-leasing strategies, giving it reach from early-stage space/defense technology bets to large control buyouts.
  • Says yes to suppliers and platforms benefiting from secular tailwinds in national security, space, and aerospace, where operational improvement and add-on M&A can compound value.
