Michael Putnam

Mike Putnam is a consumer-technology operator turned angel investor with roughly fifteen years of experience building and scaling consumer mobile and eCommerce companies. He began his career working with MARKEM Corporation, a major employer in Keene, New Hampshire, where he helped develop early enterprise technologies such as extranets and RFID. He went on to senior consumer-growth roles in the mobile and travel-commerce world, including stints associated with TripAdvisor, KAYAK, and the flash-sale retailer Rue La La, where he built a reputation as a customer-acquisition specialist who helped these companies acquire millions of new users.

In October 2014, Putnam joined American Well (now Amwell), the Boston-based telehealth pioneer co-founded by Ido and Roy Schoenberg, as Senior Vice President of Consumer Markets. He led consumer marketing and acquisition for the company through a period of rapid growth — Amwell delivered roughly six million online doctor visits in 2020 and went public that year with a $100 million co-investment from Google. Around 2020, Putnam pivoted toward climate and renewable energy. He is currently Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Monadnock Energy, a clean-energy venture rooted in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. He also serves on boards and advisory groups including the Monadnock Broadband Initiative, Antioch University New England, the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network, and as an advisor to the global women's-health startup Maternova.

Putnam holds a BS from Stanford University, an MBA (marketing and entrepreneurship) from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College (2002–2004), and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.
