Mike Ward

Mike Ward is a Partner at QuestMark Partners, a Baltimore-based expansion-stage venture capital firm founded in 1998 (by Ben Schapiro, Thomas R. Hitchner, and Tim Krongard). Ward joined QuestMark in 2004 and was named a partner in 2007, later taking on a General Partner role. He has roughly 16 years of venture capital experience and focuses on growth equity investments in emerging leaders in new markets as well as companies positioned to take meaningful share in established markets through a differentiated approach.

Before his investing career, Ward was a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he advised clients in the telecom, healthcare, energy, and retail industries. Earlier, he served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy — operating with a fighter squadron aboard an aircraft carrier and serving as the intelligence briefer for the Secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon.

Ward holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. At QuestMark he has held board seats at companies including Discover Books and Vapotherm.

More recently, Ward co-founded Harmonic Growth Partners (launched in 2020), where he serves as Co-Founder & Managing General Partner.
