Background

Nanon de Gaspé Beaubien-Mattrick is the President and Founder of Beehive Holdings, an angel fund founded in 2012 and focused primarily on seed to Series A investments. The firm backs technology companies with diversified teams and a focus on products or services mostly used by women.

Before Beehive, she worked in sales and marketing at Playtex International, then spent 10 years as Senior Vice President of Telemedia Corporation. Beehive’s biography says she helped grow Telemedia into Canada’s largest consumer magazine publisher, with titles including Elle, TV Guide, and Canadian Living, and helped build it into one of Canada’s largest radio operators.

In 1991, she co-founded MdGB Capital, where she is co-President. She is also president and co-founder of Maison Homes, a British Columbia real estate development company focused on luxury boutique residences and multifamily residential units.

She was born in Montreal, graduated with honours from Harvard College, and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. Public biographies describe her as fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
