Nicolas Biet

Nicolas Biet is a Belgian finance professional turned early-stage investor. He studied Business Engineering / Management with a finance focus at HEC Liège (Université de Liège) from 1998 to 2003. He then built roughly a decade of operating experience in financial control and management advisory across the automotive and IT sectors — including about seven years at Toyota Europe, where he handled the financial aspects of the R&D department, followed by roughly four years at an IT company. This industrial rather than financial-services grounding is a defining feature of his profile.

In 2014 Biet joined The Faktory Fund, the Liège-based early-stage tech fund founded by Pierre L'Hoest (founder and former CEO of EVS Broadcast Equipment, the slow-motion TV technology pioneer) and Simon Alexandre (former CEO of the CETIC research center). As one of three hands-on partners, he served as the fund's financial advisor / general partner — managing the financial and legal matters of the fund, structuring deals, and representing The Faktory on the boards of several portfolio companies. The Faktory's second fund, an €18M vehicle, was established in December 2019 (earlier investments were made through a family-office structure).

Since March 2025, Biet has moved to Noshaq — a Liège-based private investment company with "public DNA" — where he is an Investment Manager in the Energy branch, focusing on digital innovation and the energy transition.
