Ofir Shalvi

Ofir Shalvi is an Israeli technologist, serial entrepreneur, and angel investor whose career spans signal processing, semiconductors, and AI. He earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University (research conducted in the early 1990s) and a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is a graduate of Talpiot, the Israel Defense Forces' elite technology-leadership program. Earlier in his career he was associated with MIT and held roles at Libit Signal Processing (a cable-modem chip company acquired by Texas Instruments in 1999) and at Texas Instruments.

Shalvi is best known as a co-founder and CTO of Anobit Technologies, founded in 2006 with Prof. Ehud Weinstein and Ariel Maislos. Anobit pioneered Memory Signal Processing (MSP) technology that improved the speed, endurance, and cost of NAND flash storage used in SSDs and mobile devices. The company was acquired by Apple in early 2012 (reported at roughly $390 million), becoming a cornerstone of Apple's flash-storage engineering and its R&D presence in Israel.

After Anobit, Shalvi co-founded ParallelM (also branded ParallelM/MCenter) in 2015 alongside Lior Khermosh, Nisha Talagala, Ofer Bar-Or, and Sivan Metzger, serving as Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer. ParallelM was an early "MLOps" company focused on automating the deployment, scaling, and ongoing management of machine-learning models in production. ParallelM was acquired by DataRobot in 2019.

Shalvi is also a prolific inventor with numerous patents in signal processing and flash-memory technology. Building on the wealth and network from Anobit's exit, he and his Anobit co-founders have become an active angel-investing cluster in the Israeli tech ecosystem, frequently backing deep-tech and AI startups together.
