Background

Oliver Nordlinger co-founded Monogram Capital Partners in 2014 alongside Jared Stein, and serves as Co-Founder & Partner. At the firm he focuses on originating new investment opportunities, conducting diligence and structuring potential investments, and working alongside Monogram's partner companies, while also helping guide the firm's overall strategic direction and management. Monogram was built on the thesis that too many promising consumer and retail brands fail to reach their potential because they lack access to capital, strategic resources, talented management, and operational expertise during their formative stages.

Before founding Monogram, Nordlinger was a Vice President at Leonard Green & Partners, a leading consumer- and retail-focused private equity firm, where his deal experience included Union Square Hospitality Group / Shake Shack, Savers, Activision Blizzard, and DSW. Earlier in his career he held a generalist private equity role at Bain Capital and began his career at Bain & Company, supporting acquisition due diligence and corporate advisory work.

Nordlinger earned a B.A. in Political Science from Brown University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is based in the firm's Beverly Hills, California office.

Despite the "angel / seed" label in some databases, Monogram is a private equity firm: as of its November 2025 Fund III close, the firm manages roughly $1.75 billion in regulatory assets under management and writes equity checks of up to $50+ million, typically as the first institutional capital into a brand.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests in category-defining consumer brands and the supply-chain and services providers that support them — a "dual-mandate" strategy designed to create operational synergies across the portfolio.
  • Core verticals (per Fund III): Food & Beverage, Beauty & Personal Care, Pet, and Consumer/Business Services.
  • Positions Monogram as the bridge between family-held businesses and large-cap institutional capital — often the first institutional investor a founder takes on.
  • Brings operational and distribution support: a network of channel partners to broaden distribution into new points of sale and geographies, plus management and operational expertise.
  • Track record cited by the firm: portfolio companies held 5+ years have, in aggregate, achieved ~3x revenue growth and >600 bps of EBITDA margin expansion.
  • On the beauty sector specifically, Nordlinger has publicly argued that predictions of a beauty-category slowdown are "overblown."

Notable Investments

  • OLIPOP — functional/prebiotic soda brand; reportedly valued at ~$1.85 billion.
  • Archer — better-for-you meat-snack platform; scaled ~50x to roughly $350 million of gross revenue.
  • Chewy.com — online pet retailer; sold to PetSmart for $3.3 billion.
  • Western Smokehouse — food & beverage co-manufacturer; Monogram reacquired it in 2025 to scale supply-chain partners for fast-growing F&B brands.
  • Kidfresh — better-for-you frozen kids' meals brand.
  • Grand Fitness — Planet Fitness franchise operator.
  • D.S. & Durga — niche fragrance / beauty brand.
  • Precision Tri State and Vasco — supply-chain / services providers cited among representative investments.
