Oriano Landucci

Oriano Landucci is a retired Italian banker from Lucca, Tuscany. He spent his career at Banca del Monte di Lucca, where he served as director of the bank's central office (*direttore della sede centrale*) until his retirement in 2006. He was reported to be 69 years old at the time of his 2016 foundation appointment, placing his birth year around 1947.

From 2009 he joined the governing bodies of the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca — the philanthropic foundation historically linked to the bank — sitting on its steering board (*Organo di Indirizzo*) and its investment committee, which he coordinated from 2011. On 20 June 2016 he was elected President of the Foundation, succeeding attorney Alberto Del Carlo. He had been designated to the board by a group of local charitable and civic bodies (Croce Verde di Lucca, Croce Verde di Viareggio, CEIS, and Misericordia di Lucca). On taking office he framed his mandate modestly, saying that "continuing along the path already taken would in itself be an important objective," acknowledging his predecessor's strong record.

His presidency ran until May 2021, when the 2020 financial statements were approved and Andrea Palestini (former mayor of Viareggio and provincial council president) was installed as the new president; Landucci's term was not renewable after one mandate on the steering council and one as president. Under Landucci the Foundation posted solid endowment performance — an average return on assets of about 6% over 2006–2019, above the Italian foundation average — and in his final year distributed roughly €900,000 across 173 grants.

In retirement Landucci also took up writing, becoming known locally as a Lucchese author (e.g., his book *La "Gran Botta"*), drawing on archival research about local history.

• Endowment management: The financial portfolio (~€49M in 2021, ~€65M patrimony in 2016) is described as emphasizing ethical investment; Landucci's committee role was to steward these assets to fund the grant program, achieving ~6% average returns during 2006–2019.
• Who gets a "yes": local nonprofits, cultural institutions, schools, and volunteer/grassroots organizations in and around Lucca whose projects align with the four pillars.
