Pamela Jones

Pamela R. Jones is the Chief Operating Officer of Vesalius Ventures, a Houston-based venture capital firm and healthcare-technology accelerator founded in 2002. She has been a member of the Vesalius team since July 2001, making her one of the firm's longest-tenured executives. As COO of Vesalius Ventures Management, she is responsible for the firm's daily operations — including human resources, accounting, and IT — and for ensuring that the business runs efficiently and that resources are properly managed. Beyond pure operations, she has been described by the firm as "instrumental in conducting due diligence and research on potential investments and investment teams," giving her a hands-on role in the firm's deal evaluation process.

Before Vesalius, Jones served as Director of Business Services at Vanguard Ventures, a venture capital firm that invested in early-stage information technology, healthcare, and communications companies, where she managed the Houston office's operations. In total she brings more than 20 years of operations-management experience spanning the corporate, nonprofit, and state-government sectors.

On the education side, Jones holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a B.S. from the University of Houston, and she has been reported to be pursuing a doctorate in accounting.

Vesalius Ventures itself was co-founded by Dr. Bernard A. Harris, Jr. — a physician and former NASA astronaut (the first African American to walk in space) — who serves as CEO and Managing Partner.
