Background
Patrick Vosgimorukian is the Founder & General Manager of FF&P Ventures, where the firm describes its model as going beyond advice by taking “active, long-term participation” in C-level management and board roles at client companies. FF&P’s services include development and growth strategy, private equity and venture capital strategy, M&A, transformation, leadership management, design thinking, CSR, and sustainability.
Before FF&P, Vosgimorukian co-founded Digital Spring Ventures, an Abu Dhabi-based emerging-markets technology investor. MarketScreener reports that he founded Digital Spring Ventures in 2016 and was its chairman from 2016 to 2021. DSV invested across the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa, with reported early/growth-stage check sizes of USD 3 million to USD 10 million.
His earlier career was in investment banking, telecom/media/technology, and emerging-markets advisory. Kazkommertsbank materials state that he was Managing Director at Renaissance Capital Central Asia from 2007 to 2008, responsible for investment banking and finance in Central Asia and the Caucasus; Head of M&A for CEE and CIS at ABN AMRO Corporate Finance London from 2000 to 2007; and an EMEA technology, media, and telecom equity research analyst at Societe Generale Securities from 1998 to 2000. He was also General Director of AMUN Capital Advisors KZ and served on the board of Kazkommertsbank as an Alnair representative.
Vosgimorukian graduated in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from The American University of Paris. Public Kazkommertsbank materials also note that he obtained an International Baccalaureate from the American School of Paris in 1990 and completed UK FSA investment-adviser-related authorization in 1998.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- DSV focused on “next generation companies in Internet, IT and Technology sectors” across CIS, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
- The firm’s stated goal was to support “strong entrepreneurs and management teams aspiring to build successful businesses.”
- DSV’s model emphasized emerging-market growth with geographic diversification and selection of rapidly growing, resilient industries.
- Reported target sectors include fintech, edtech, new media, marketplace, adtech, classifieds, and frontier markets.
- DSV backed companies with regional-consolidation potential: its Jiji/OLX transaction commentary framed Jiji as a “star portfolio company” and highlighted deploying capital into internet and technology sectors in “the world’s most exciting emerging markets.”
- FF&P’s current advisory model is operationally involved: it says it implements and executes strategies through C-level and board participation, suggesting Vosgimorukian is more likely to be useful where strategic execution, capital strategy, M&A, or scaling support are central needs.
Notable Investments
- Jiji - Pan-African online classifieds marketplace. DSV was described as a cornerstone/principal investor backing Jiji’s 2019 acquisition of OLX businesses in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, with OLX Nigeria users redirected to Jiji.
- 2C2P - Southeast Asian payments platform. Digital Spring Ventures was reported as lead investor in 2C2P’s USD 8 million December 2016 round; Ant Group later became majority shareholder in 2022.
- Dnevnik - Russian digital education and school-management platform. Dealroom lists Digital Spring Ventures LLP as an investor in Dnevnik’s July 2016 Series C round.
- PEEX - Live-music audio technology company. Vosgimorukian joined as CEO in 2019 after a career spanning angel investing and managing Digital Spring Ventures; PEEX had launched on Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
