Pentti Tuunala

Pentti Tuunala is a Partner at Sentica Partners Oy, an independent Finnish private equity firm that invests in and develops small and mid-sized companies of Finnish origin. He holds an M.Sc. degree in Industrial Economics (Industrial Engineering and Management) from Tampere University of Technology. He joined Sentica in the late 1990s after graduating, having previously worked in SME corporate financing and analysis.

Over more than 18 years, Tuunala has accumulated extensive experience in board member and chairman roles across Sentica's portfolio companies, participating in the development of numerous mid-market businesses and their business models. He has served on the boards of companies including Purkupiha Group (demolition and recycling), Dimex (workwear — where he is Chairman of the Board), TerraWise Oy, and Vesivek Oy (roof renovation).

Sentica manages a lower-mid-market-focused buyout strategy. The firm has raised multiple funds over its history (with roughly €500 million raised across its fund series) and has been active since 2004, completing dozens of exits. Tuunala has been a deal-team lead on transactions such as Vesivek (a roof renovation company with ~€108M sales in 2024) and Purkupiha Group (~€31M sales in 2024).
