Peter Attia

Peter Attia is a Canadian-American physician best known for his work on longevity and "Medicine 3.0." He earned a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada, and his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine (2001). He then completed a five-year general surgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was named "Resident of the Year," and spent two years as a surgical-oncology fellow at the National Cancer Institute (NIH), researching immune-based therapies for melanoma.

After leaving clinical training, Attia worked at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant in its corporate-risk and healthcare practices before returning to medicine with a focus on longevity. He is the founder of Early Medical, a practice that applies "Medicine 3.0" principles to extend lifespan and healthspan, and the host of *The Peter Attia Drive*, one of the most popular health-and-medicine podcasts. His book *Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity* (2023) was a #1 New York Times bestseller. He is licensed to practice medicine in Texas, California, and New York, and lives in Austin, Texas.

Attia's investing is an extension of his medical work: he takes angel stakes and advisory roles in companies aligned with health optimization, nutrition, and longevity. He joined the fasting app Zero (Big Sky Health / Zero Longevity Science) as co-founder and Chief Medical Officer in 2019, around the company's $2.8M raise from True Ventures and Trinity Ventures. In 2025 he emerged from stealth as co-founder and CMO of Biograph, a preventive-health and diagnostics clinic he built with venture investor John Hering (Vy Capital).
