Peter Weidmann

Peter Weidmann is a Partner at Sentient Equity Partners, the specialist private-equity manager behind the Sentient Global Resources Funds, which invest in quality metal, mineral and energy assets across the global resources industry. Within the firm he focuses on investor relations, working with an institutional investor base that includes university endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans and family offices. He is based in the Greater Munich area, while the firm itself is domiciled in Grand Cayman with deep operational ties to Australia.

He has built a career across banking and private equity in both Europe and Australia. Weidmann spent several years with Macquarie Bank, working out of Sydney, London and Munich, and prior to that served as an Investment Director with the BTV Group in Munich. His experience spans both fund investing and direct co-investments in the private-equity sector. He began his professional career at KPMG and Deutsche Bank.

On the education side, Weidmann holds an MBA (with honors) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (Graduate School of Business), completed in the mid-2000s, and a M.S. in Finance and Computer Science from the University of Mannheim in Germany.
