Background
Radil Stefovski is an investment professional who served as an Investment Director (and is referred to in firm press releases as "Director") at ARX Equity Partners, one of the longest-established private equity firms in Central & Eastern Europe. ARX operates from offices in Prague, Warsaw, Budapest and Bucharest, has a roughly 20-year+ track record, and has raised more than €300 million across four funds, completing 20+ platform investments plus add-on acquisitions. He is based in Prague, consistent with the +420 Czech phone code on his contact record. He studied at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
At ARX, Stefovski focused on the firm's bread-and-butter strategy: equity investments in profitable, medium-sized CEE companies, frequently in succession-driven situations where owners are exiting fully or partially. ARX targets businesses valued between roughly €10m and €50m with at least ~€1m of EBITDA, executing management buy-outs/buy-ins, corporate carve-outs and growth-capital deals rather than early-stage or seed financing. This makes the "Angel Investors / Seed Round" framing in the original stub inaccurate — ARX is a buyout/growth-oriented PE firm.
Stefovski was publicly associated with ARX's expansion into business and professional services, most notably the 2022 acquisition of Hungary's Klient Holding (WTS Klient). More recently, public records (LinkedIn) indicate he has moved to Total Specific Solutions (TSS), the European vertical-market software group within the Topicus/Constellation Software family, in a Portfolio Manager capacity — a logical step from CEE buyouts into a serial software-acquisition platform. Note that he no longer appears on ARX's current team page, supporting the view that his ARX role is a past position even though aggregator profiles (e.g., Bloomberg) still list him there.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests through ARX in profitable, established mid-market CEE companies, not startups — enterprise values of ~€10m–€50m and EBITDA of at least ~€1m.
- Deal types: management buy-outs (MBO), management buy-ins (MBI), full or partial founder exits, corporate divestitures, and growth/expansion capital (acquisitions, internationalization).
- Succession-driven investing is a stated ARX specialty — backing owner-led businesses where founders are stepping back, then professionalizing and growing them.
- Geographic mandate is firmly Central & Eastern Europe (HQ'd or primarily operating in the region).
- On the professional-services thesis behind the Klient deal, Stefovski framed the opportunity around businesses moving up the value chain: clients increasingly expect accounting and tax professionals to become *"holistic advisers"* rather than merely transactional service providers.
Notable Investments
- WTS Klient / Klient Holding (Hungary, 2022) — ARX took a majority stake in a Top-10 Hungarian outsourced accounting, payroll and tax-advisory group (founded 1998, ~€5m sales, 120+ staff). This is the deal Stefovski was personally quoted on; WTS Klient later completed add-on acquisitions under ARX ownership.
- Direct4me (Slovenia, 2026) — ARX became lead investor/majority shareholder in a fast-growing provider of battery-powered autonomous parcel-locker infrastructure (2025 revenue more than tripled to €10m+). *(Likely post-dates his ARX tenure.)*
- Phobs / Travelnode (Croatia, 2025) — ARX, alongside Sandberg Capital, acquired a majority stake in a hospitality-sector SaaS provider.
- HLB PROXY (Czech Republic, 2026) — professional-services investment, thematically aligned with the Klient strategy.
- Representative realized ARX deals (firm-level, illustrating the strategy): Brebeck Composite (CZ, carbon-fiber), Instrumentation Technologies (SI, particle-accelerator equipment), Promens Zlín (CZ, automotive plastics), TES Vsetín (CZ, electrical machines), Fontana (SI, diagnostics).
