Background
Ram Davaloor is a Venture Partner at Blue Cloud Ventures, a New York–based growth-stage venture firm founded in 2012 (by Rami Rahal, Mir Arif, and Joel Lou) that provides expansion capital to enterprise and AI software companies and crossed $1B in AUM with the 2026 final close of its fifth fund. Ram brings more than 20 years of operating and entrepreneurial experience, concentrated heavily in healthcare technology and IT services.
He cofounded iSpace Health, a consulting, product, and services company serving health plans and workers'-compensation carriers. After scaling the business to roughly 600 employees, he sold it to Cotiviti, where he served as Senior Vice President and helped take the company public on the NYSE in 2016. Cotiviti was subsequently acquired by Veritas Capital–backed Verscend for $4.9 billion in 2018.
Earlier in his career, Ram cofounded Symphony Data Corporation, a healthcare technology and services company acquired by Zavata in 2005, and before that he founded Nextech LLC, an IT services company that he successfully exited. This repeated founder-operator experience — building, scaling, and exiting software and services businesses — is the lens he brings to Blue Cloud's growth-stage software investing.
Ram holds an MS in Physics and an MBA, both from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in India.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests through Blue Cloud Ventures, whose stated mandate is "Expansion Capital for Leading AI Software Companies" — AI-first enterprise software, SaaS infrastructure, cybersecurity, and open-source software.
- Targets late/growth-stage companies with roughly $10M–$50M in revenue and a 3–5 year exit horizon — i.e., proven, revenue-scaling software businesses rather than pre-product startups.
- Firm typically deploys $10M–$30M checks, flexibly as lead, co-lead, or co-investor.
- Ram's personal edge is healthcare technology and IT services, reflecting his operating background founding and exiting multiple health-tech companies; he adds value on scaling operations and navigating exits/IPOs.
- Consistent with a founder-turned-investor profile, the "yes" tends to favor companies with real revenue traction, defensible enterprise software, and a credible path to acquisition or IPO.
Notable Investments

- Pax8 — Cloud marketplace for IT products and services.
