Background

Randy Eisenman is co-founder and Managing Partner of Satori Capital, a Fort Worth–based multi-strategy investment firm he launched in 2008 with Sunny Vanderbeck (former CEO of Data Return). The two spent roughly four years meeting to align on values before founding a firm built explicitly on the principles of "conscious capitalism" — the belief that businesses run for the long term and for all stakeholders are more innovative, less risky, and better positioned to grow. Satori operates a private-equity business and an alternatives arm ("Satori Alpha"), and manages more than $1 billion in assets.

Before Satori, Eisenman spent ten years at Q Investments, the multi-billion-dollar Fort Worth private investment firm founded by former Bass Family investment professionals. There he launched the firm's private-equity business and served as a Partner for seven years — reportedly the youngest person named Partner in the firm's history, at age 25. While at Q, he founded Handango, a pioneer in the mobile/smartphone content market, serving as President and CEO and building it into a global leader in the category; the company earned Inc. 500 recognition and Eisenman was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004.

Earlier in his career, Eisenman was a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs & Co. in the Principal Investments Area (venture capital, growth equity, and leveraged buyouts), and he also worked at Bear Stearns (mergers and acquisitions) and HBK Investments, one of the world's largest hedge funds. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Texas, where he graduated with high honors from the Business Honors Program.

Beyond investing, Eisenman is a founding trustee of Conscious Capitalism, Inc., sits on the Board of Trustees and investment committee of the Cook Children's Health Foundation, serves on the board of Fort Worth Country Day School, has co-chaired a YPO network, and advises TCU's Neeley School of Business entrepreneurial program.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests through Satori Capital's private-equity strategy in U.S. lower-middle-market companies with ~$5M–$50M of EBITDA, taking majority stakes ($5M–$35M EBITDA) or minority positions ($10M–$50M EBITDA).
  • Core sectors: commercial and industrial services, IP- or engineering-driven manufacturing, and established consumer brands.
  • Anchored in conscious capitalism — Satori "partners with talented leadership teams of companies operating with a long-term perspective, a deep commitment to their mission, and a focus on creating value for all stakeholders."
  • Says yes to mission-driven leadership teams that want a long-term partner to help accelerate growth, rather than short-term financial engineering.
  • The principals also back emerging health and neurotech companies personally/opportunistically — Eisenman "operates at the intersection of his passions of investing, entrepreneurship, and sustainability."
  • On a representative early deal, Eisenman framed it as values alignment: "We are thrilled to partner with Hapbee's talented leadership team to bring this innovative and impactful technology to even more users."
