Robert Azeke

Robert Azeke is the founder and Managing Partner of Farol Asset Management, LP, a New York–based private equity firm he established in 2011. Farol provides customized control and non-control (co-investment) solutions to institutional investors worldwide, with a stated specialty in lower middle market private equity and partnering with diverse and emerging fund managers. Azeke sits on both the firm's Investment Committee and Management Committee and leads its investment activities.

Before founding Farol, Azeke led the private equity co-investment business at Parish Capital, where he managed the firm's relationship with the New York State Common Retirement Fund. Earlier, he founded The Sunday Group, a boutique advisory and capital-raising firm serving small and middle-market companies. Over a Wall Street career spanning more than 25 years in investment banking and private equity, he held senior positions at JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Lazard Frères, and Compass Partners.

Azeke is a graduate of Harvard Business School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of a Division I National Championship men's lacrosse team. He is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in Spanish.

Beyond Farol, Azeke is active in institutional governance and education. He is a Trustee of the State University of New York (SUNY) Research Foundation, where he chairs the Investment Committee overseeing an approximately $1 billion portfolio, and he was appointed a Trustee of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center by former New York Governor David Paterson. He has also served as a Trustee of Milton Academy (chairing its Budget and Finance Committee and serving on the endowment's Investment Committee) and of the Nightingale-Bamford School, and is involved with the New America Alliance, an organization focused on building American Latino and minority economic and business leadership.
