Robert Burlinson

Bob Burlinson co-founded Regis Management Company in 2000 to help private investors in Silicon Valley sponsor private equity, venture capital and private real estate investments. Regis grew into an industry-leading wealth management firm serving ultra-high-net-worth families, multigenerational families, foundations and endowments, ultimately managing/advising on roughly $5 billion in assets. He serves as the firm's Co-Founder, Chief Investment Officer, Managing Partner and a member of its Investment Committee. Regis partnered with Mercer Advisors and was acquired by the firm (announced December 2022), where Burlinson now serves as Vice Chairman of Regis and Senior Director of Private Investments, overseeing selection of private funds and co-investments across private equity, venture capital, private credit and real estate.

Before founding Regis, Burlinson was the first employee and a Principal at Industrial Growth Partners, a leveraged-buyout firm focused on middle-market manufacturing businesses, where he sourced and evaluated acquisitions. Earlier in his career he executed public and private financings and merger-advisory assignments for Alex Brown & Sons, Inc. and Kidder, Peabody & Co. in New York, and he began his career in the private placements group of Manufacturers Hanover Securities Corporation. He has more than three decades of experience in private investments.

Burlinson earned an A.B. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been deeply involved in community and philanthropic work: nearly 20 years on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula, service on the Menlo Park–Atherton Education Foundation, and 17 years on the Investment Committee of the Skoll Foundation. A lifelong musician, he has played in guitar bands since high school, and he lives in the Bay Area with his wife, Nan Burton Burlinson.
