Background

Robert (Bob) Coury is a career investment banker and M&A advisor with more than 30 years of capital markets experience, spanning mergers & acquisitions, business valuation, and the capital markets. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand, where he worked as a manager from 1989 to 1996. In 1996 he founded and built Deloitte Corporate Finance, LLC — Deloitte's U.S. investment banking arm — which he led as National Managing Director and CEO until 2013, growing it to more than 130 investment bankers across major U.S. cities. Over his career he has advised on transactions involving more than 150 companies, ranging from large public corporations to family-owned enterprises.

After Deloitte, Coury served briefly as Senior Managing Director at FINNEA Group (2013–2015) before founding Greenwich Capital Group, LLC in 2013/2015, an M&A advisory and investment banking firm with offices in Cleveland, Ohio and Birmingham, Michigan, where he remains Managing Director and CEO. His advisory practice focuses on M&A, financial analytics, business strategy, and capital advisory across manufacturing (automotive, aerospace and defense, industrial equipment), consumer products, business services, technology, and medical/dental equipment.

Coury is also Managing Director at Townsend Street Capital, a lower-middle-market private equity fund he helps lead. Townsend Street Capital describes itself as making opportunistic investments — including management-led leveraged recapitalizations and acquisitions of small companies with niche strategies — and emphasizes a "patient capital" approach and partnership with entrepreneurs. Note: the known stub data labeling Coury as an "Angel Investor" doing "Seed Rounds" is not supported by any primary source; his verified activity is lower-middle-market control private equity and M&A advisory, not seed/angel investing.

Coury holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan (1985) and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
