Background
Roberto Loehnert is a Santiago-based investor with more than twenty years of experience in the investment and development of alternative assets. He is a co-founder and Founding Partner of Venturance Alternative Assets, the Chilean fund manager he built alongside Antonio Zegers and Santiago Valdés roughly 15 years ago, which today manages approximately $350 million across venture capital, growth equity, private debt and real estate strategies. The same partnership operates under the Endurance Investments brand (endinv.com), where Loehnert is listed as a Managing Partner and Director.
Before founding the firm, Loehnert built a career across entrepreneurship-support, consulting and operating roles. His background includes time at Endeavor (the global high-impact entrepreneurship network), EFT Group, McKinsey & Company, and the early internet venture NosUni.com. He is affiliated with the Stanford University Graduate School of Business network, consistent with a Stanford GSB education.
Within the Venturance platform, Loehnert helped launch Zentynel (Zentynel Frontier Investments), a US-domiciled venture fund concentrating on biotechnology opportunities coming out of Latin America, and the firm's other vehicles include FIP Alerce (VC), FIP Endurance I and Venture Equity (private growth equity), and Outdoors and SAAS HR (public growth equity). He also sits on several boards, including Clínica Alemana de Santiago, Bbosch, Lippi and Streat Burger, reflecting a hands-on, board-level approach to his portfolio and holdings.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests primarily at seed and Series A, writing checks in the ~$150K–$1M range with a ~$500K sweet spot (per Signal/NFX profile).
- Core conviction in biotech and life sciences from Latin America — Zentynel is explicitly built to back "biotech opportunities from Latin America," and the firm is raising Zentynel II, a ~$30M biotech-focused fund described by the partners as a specialized niche they've "adapted successfully" to.
- Also active in AgTech and broader frontier/deep-tech and digital-health themes (reflected across the Zentynel portfolio).
- On the growth-equity side, targets mid-sized companies with ~$10–50M in revenue, building diversified portfolios of eight-plus assets.
- Takes an operator/board-member posture, holding directorships in portfolio and holding companies rather than acting as a passive check-writer.
