Ronald Meersschaert

Ronald Meersschaert is a Dutch finance and investment professional with roughly 35 years of experience spanning accounting, corporate finance, and venture/private-equity investing. He began his career at Deloitte, where he spent eight years as a certified public accountant, before taking senior finance positions at industrial companies including Watts Industries Europe, the MoTip-Dupli Group, and Doorwin. He holds a Master's degree in Business Economics from Tilburg University and a Post-Master in Accountancy (RA/CPA qualification).

In 2006 he joined Ramphastos Investments, the private-equity and venture firm founded in 1994 by Dutch billionaire entrepreneur Marcel Boekhoorn. As a Partner for about 15 years, Meersschaert was responsible for deal sourcing, screening of investment opportunities, deal execution, and portfolio management across the firm's holdings. He now serves as a Senior Advisor to Ramphastos and continues to sit on boards connected to the firm's portfolio.

Since the early 2020s, Meersschaert has been a Managing Partner at DeepTechXL, an Eindhoven-based venture fund focused on early-stage deep-tech startups tied to the Brainport/High Tech Campus manufacturing and hard-science ecosystem. There he leads finance and control while contributing to dealmaking, portfolio management, and value creation. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director (board member) of Novum Bank Group, a Malta-based digital bank in which Ramphastos/Boekhoorn held a controlling stake.
