Background

Roy Tuvey is a London-based technology founder and angel investor. He is currently CEO / Co-CEO and co-founder of Vertice, an intelligent procurement and spend-management platform. Vertice says it serves 1,000+ customers in 100+ countries and processes $75bn of spend; its London office is at 180 Great Portland Street.

Before Vertice, Roy co-founded and led two enterprise SaaS cybersecurity companies with his brother Eldar Tuvey. Vertice’s official bio says Roy co-founded and ran ScanSafe, which was acquired by Cisco for $200m, and Wandera, which was acquired by Jamf for $400m. Cisco announced the completion of its ScanSafe acquisition on December 7, 2009, describing ScanSafe as a London- and San Francisco-based SaaS web-security provider. Jamf announced on May 11, 2021 that it had agreed to acquire Wandera for $400m; SEC filings show Roy signed the merger agreement for Wandera as President.

Roy’s earlier career includes Merrill Lynch, and his education is a BSc in Economics from the University of Bristol, according to Vertice’s author bio and executive-profile sources.

As an angel, Roy’s publicly visible investment record is sparse. The verified deal found is Plum Fintech’s 2016 seed round, where Roy Tuvey appeared as an individual investor alongside 500 Startups, QVentures, Demetrios Zoppos, and Eldar Tuvey.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Public sources do not show a dedicated personal investment thesis, fund mandate, or published check-size range for Roy Tuvey.
  • Publicly documented angel activity points to seed-stage fintech, with Plum Fintech as the identified investment.
  • His operator pattern suggests strong relevance for founders building enterprise SaaS, cybersecurity, procurement, cloud, and spend-management businesses.
  • Vertice’s own positioning gives a useful signal on the types of problems he understands deeply: procurement and finance teams need “control, visibility and transparency,” real-time pricing benchmarks, workflow orchestration, and AI-supported purchasing decisions.
  • In TechCrunch coverage of Vertice’s 2025 Series C, Roy described Vertice as standardizing how companies buy “anything, not just software and cloud,” emphasizing unified workflows, savings, efficiency, and data-driven procurement.

Notable Investments

  • Plum Fintech — London-based personal finance / savings app. Roy Tuvey participated as an individual investor in Plum’s 2016 seed round; sources list the round at £500k / €500k and include 500 Startups, QVentures, Demetrios Zoppos, Eldar Tuvey, and Roy Tuvey.
