Background

Ryan G. Anthony is a Partner and Co-Founder of Longshore Capital Partners, a Chicago-based lower-middle-market private equity firm he helped launch in 2020. He co-leads the firm's Investment Committee and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investments, due diligence, transaction structuring and negotiation, portfolio management, and investor relations. Longshore pursues control buyouts of profitable, growing services businesses, generally targeting companies with roughly $5M–$15M of EBITDA and under $100M of revenue.

Before founding Longshore, Anthony was a Partner at LaSalle Capital (also referred to as LaSalle Capital Group), a lower-middle-market private equity fund in Chicago, where he led a number of business-services buyouts. He had earlier been an Associate at LaSalle Capital, and in between served as a Vice President at Svoboda Capital Partners, another Chicago lower-middle-market PE firm. He began his finance career in the investment banking division of Houlihan Lokey.

Anthony earned a BS with High Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (completed around 2010). Public records also associate him with Longshore Capital Management as Partner/Co-Founder, consistent with his current role.

Note on the stub data: the "Angel Investors / Seed Round" classification appears to be an aggregator error. Across all verifiable sources, Anthony is a control-oriented private equity investor who buys established, cash-flow-positive companies — not an angel funding early-stage startups. Founders seeking pre-revenue seed capital are unlikely to be a fit.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Strategy: Control buyouts (majority ownership) in the lower middle market, not minority venture or angel checks.
  • Size: Companies with roughly $5M–$15M of EBITDA and < $100M of revenue.
  • Sectors: "Niche verticals within the services economy" — e.g., tech-enabled business services, healthcare revenue-cycle, insurance claims services, IT/managed services, and digital commerce.
  • What they look for: Businesses that "exhibit strong growth characteristics across business cycles," have highly visible (recurring) revenue, and offer an "opportunity to accelerate growth."
  • Value-add angle: The firm states it focuses on "situations where we can add value" and frames its mission around the ability to "Accelerate Strategic Growth"; leadership has invested in the lower middle market since ~2000.
