Samriti Pal

Samriti (Sami) Pal joined Nyca Partners as an analyst around 2019, the year the fintech-focused venture firm closed its third fund at $210 million. Nyca describes itself as a "thesis-driven" investor "partnering with founders modernizing the financial system," led by Managing Partner Hans Morris (former president of Visa). As an analyst, Pal supported the firm's diligence and investing work across financial-technology companies.

Before Nyca, Pal built a finance and equity-research background on Wall Street. She worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an Equity Research Associate/Analyst (and earlier as a Research Summer Analyst), and she previously interned as an investment/summer analyst at Water Island Capital, a merger-arbitrage and event-driven asset manager. Earlier experiences include a finance internship at the New York City Department of Human Resources and a research internship at NYU Langone Health.

Pal earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and is a graduate of The Bronx High School of Science. She later attended Harvard Business School, where she was an HBS Leadership Fellow — a fellowship that places HBS graduates in leadership roles at mission-driven organizations.

After her time in venture and equity research, Pal moved into finance leadership in education and startups. She served as Director of Finance & Innovation Strategy at Coney Island Prep (a Brooklyn K–12 charter network) as an HBS Leadership Fellow, held a director role at Cambiar Education, and currently works as Senior Manager, Strategic Finance at Stepful, a healthcare workforce-training startup. Her investing role at Nyca is therefore best understood as an earlier chapter of her career rather than her present position.
