Satveer Singh Thakral

Satveer Singh Thakral is the Founder and CEO of the Singapore Angel Network (SGAN), an early-stage investment vehicle anchored by the Thakral Group — a family conglomerate founded in 1905 that today operates across roughly 36 countries with more than 20,000 employees, historically in the distribution and retail of consumer electronics, IT, and branded goods. Satveer represents a younger generation of the family steering its capital toward technology. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce (Finance & Management), graduating with distinction and additionally studying Psychology and Leadership at UVa's College of Arts & Sciences.

In April 2014, Satveer co-founded SGAN together with his father to spearhead the group's push into early-stage technology investing and increase its exposure to tech-led solutions. Under his leadership the network has backed well over 100 companies across India, Singapore, and the USA, and SGAN describes itself as one of the largest angel funds in the region. He has said he has spoken with more than 1,500 founders and invested in at least 100 companies since inception, and in interviews has framed the effort as an ongoing "learning journey."

Beyond SGAN, Satveer is a Co-Founder and Partner at Riverwalk Holdings and has been associated with Dreamweaver Investments and Business Solutions, and has served on portfolio company boards (e.g., Tagnos). SGAN shares an address with Riverwalk at 20 Upper Circular Road, #03-06 The Riverwalk, Singapore. Around 2018–2020 he began steering SGAN from a purely family-funded model toward raising external capital; by March 2020 SGAN publicly signaled it would pause new seed-stage investing while it worked to raise a new fund.
