Background

Sina Nader is a former Wall Street money manager turned crypto operator and investor. He earned a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He began his finance career around 2002 at Morgan Stanley, where he was part of a team managing roughly $150 million, and later joined Credit Suisse's private banking unit in 2007 as a junior associate helping manage a ~$100 million portfolio of equities, derivatives, and alternative investments — giving him a front-row view of the 2007–2008 financial crisis. That experience shaped a recurring theme in his thinking: what he describes as the "principal-agent problem" in traditional finance.

In 2017 Nader co-founded CryptoLux Capital, one of the first crypto "fund of funds" run by people with a professional asset-management background. He teamed up with former Morgan Stanley private-wealth colleague Jacob Kirschenbaum and others to build a diversified portfolio of top crypto funds across multiple strategies, offering investors a single point of entry into digital assets. He has described CryptoLux as his "education" in the crypto industry.

Nader subsequently moved into operating roles at several major crypto companies. He served as Robinhood's inaugural Head of Crypto, focused on democratizing access to crypto trading, then became Head of Partnerships at FTX US (starting around 2020), where he orchestrated some of the highest-profile celebrity and sports endorsements in crypto — including deals involving Tom Brady, Shaquille O'Neal, and a Larry David Super Bowl commercial. After FTX's collapse, in August 2023 he joined Mysten Labs (the Web3 firm behind the Sui blockchain, founded by ex-Meta engineers) as Head of Strategy, reporting directly to CEO Evan Cheng. He has also been associated with Pactum Capital (Head of Investor Relations), Paxos, MobileCoin, and Snickerdoodle Labs, and has served as a mentor with the Harvard Blockchain group.

Most recently, Nader has been building PARTI, a media platform he describes as a hybrid of "Netflix-style media and Robinhood-like financial services" — combining live-streaming and content with integrated crypto-based financial tools and creator monetization (reportedly letting creators keep up to 100% of earnings with instant crypto payouts). He discussed the venture publicly in a December 2024 podcast interview.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Stage: Seed and early-stage; angel checks alongside fund-of-funds allocations into crypto funds.
  • Sectors: Crypto/digital assets, blockchain infrastructure, Web3, and increasingly the intersection of media, the creator economy, and embedded finance.
  • What makes him say yes — "philosophical alignment": Nader has stated he prioritizes genuine belief in crypto over purely transactional incentives. In his FTX partnership work he emphasized that the best partners were drawn by "philosophical alignment" and authentic interest in the technology, not just money.
  • Brand and storytelling lens: He invests behind and builds around emotional storytelling, human connection, and "social leverage" — using networks, podcasts, and communities to identify signal and build brands rather than relying on paid promotion alone.
  • Professional-grade diligence: CryptoLux was explicitly positioned as crypto investing run by trained asset managers — diversification across strategies and managers rather than single-token bets.

Notable Investments

  • CryptoLux Capital — Co-founder/CEO of an early crypto fund of funds (2017); reported among the Wall Street-veteran teams that raised ~$50 million for a crypto fund of funds.
  • FTX US (partnerships, not equity) — Architected celebrity/sports partnerships (Tom Brady, Shaquille O'Neal, Larry David Super Bowl ad) as Head of Partnerships.
  • PARTI — Co-founder of a media + financial-services platform for creators (in development, surfaced publicly 2024).
  • Operating/affiliations across Robinhood Crypto, Mysten Labs (Sui), Pactum Capital, Paxos, MobileCoin, and Snickerdoodle Labs.
