Background
Stanislav Sukhinin is a CFA charterholder (since 2013) with roughly two decades in corporate finance and capital markets. Born December 9, 1983, in Zelenograd, a suburb of Moscow, into an engineering family, he earned a Master's degree in Physics of Semiconductors from the National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) in Moscow, graduating in 2006. He began his career the same year as a credit analyst for small businesses before moving into investment banking and corporate lending.
Over the following years he held roles at major banking institutions — including UniCredit (Bank of Austria in Vienna, where he relocated around 2011) and Societe Generale — and became a senior partner at a major Eastern European mezzanine-financing firm, where he helped build out mezzanine loan products across the region. By his late twenties he was managing a loan portfolio of roughly $450 million.
In 2017 he joined CryptoBazar, a Moscow-based crypto investment fund and accelerator, and helped run the company from its start, serving as Operations Director. CryptoBazar (co-founded and led by CEO Oleg Ivanov) grew into one of the larger crypto venture platforms in Eastern Europe, screening, accelerating, and funding early-stage blockchain projects from Russia and the CIS. Sukhinin's operational role covered the fund's back-office, structuring, and finance functions rather than a public dealmaker/general-partner profile.
Since his CryptoBazar years, Sukhinin relocated to the U.S. (New York in 2019, later Austin) and shifted into founder/CFO advisory work: he launched a hedge fund effort around 2019, founded the financial-consulting practice Finmodel in 2020, and rebranded it as Sorso in 2024, where he now works as founder and fractional CFO — focused largely on outpatient healthcare clinics. This means the @cryptobazar.io contact reflects a historical role; his current active venture is Sorso.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Stage: Early-stage / seed backing of crypto and blockchain startups, historically via CryptoBazar's fund-plus-accelerator model.
- Sectors: Blockchain infrastructure, fintech, exchanges, funds, and "deep-tech" crypto projects — CryptoBazar's stated focus areas included fintech, backbone/infrastructure projects, exchanges, banks, funds, and technological innovation.
- Model: CryptoBazar positioned itself to "select, filter, accelerate and otherwise prepare" projects from Russia and the CIS — i.e., hands-on preparation of founders before and alongside investment.
- Sukhinin's operator lens: His own repeated theme is financial discipline and execution — "Execution beats strategy. Every time." — reflecting a finance-first, unit-economics-driven view of what makes a company fundable.
- Check size: Not publicly disclosed; omitted rather than guessed.
