Stelian Balta

Stelian Baltă is a Romanian entrepreneur and digital-asset investor who is the founder and CEO of HyperChain Capital, a Singapore-based digital assets management firm focused on blockchain projects and decentralized protocols. He grew up in Negrești-Oaș in Romania's Satu Mare County and began building online games at age 16. During his first year of college he founded a game-development company making titles for platforms such as MySpace and Facebook, and left school to pursue business full-time.

Baltă moved into the blockchain sector around 2012–2013, initially by building software systems for cryptocurrency trading, which gave him early exposure to Bitcoin and Ethereum. He founded HyperChain Capital in 2016 (some sources cite research/investing activity beginning as early as 2012) and became one of the earliest large-scale institutional backers of a number of major Layer-1 networks, describing the firm's approach as being a long-term, "early participant and consultant" to protocol teams.

Under Baltă, HyperChain Capital reports investments across dozens of blockchain projects (he has cited figures well above 40, and in some interviews 150+ positions across the space). He is frequently described in press coverage as a "crypto billionaire," though no verified net-worth figure has been published. Beyond investing, Baltă has been publicly visible — he appeared in Netflix's *Formula 1: Drive to Survive* alongside driver Pierre Gasly and made notable philanthropic donations of medical supplies to hospitals in Satu Mare County during the COVID-19 pandemic and after Typhoon Rai.
