Steve Singleton

Steve Singleton is a Managing Director and co-founder of Mountain Group Partners (MGP), a Nashville-based venture capital and private-equity firm founded in 2002 that invests in and actively guides early-stage companies in the life sciences and disruptive-technology sectors. He has held his Managing Director role at the firm since roughly 2002, making him part of its founding leadership alongside partners including Joe Cook, Jr., Joe Cook, III, and Byron Smith.

Before entering venture investing, Singleton practiced law. From 1998 to 2002 he was an attorney at Trenam Law, a full-service Florida firm, where his work spanned areas such as bankruptcy, healthcare, tax, personal injury, and real estate. That legal and transactional grounding informs MGP's hands-on, structured approach to building companies.

His education includes a law degree (J.D.) from Stetson University College of Law, along with undergraduate study at the University of Central Arkansas and the University of South Florida.

Beyond MGP, Singleton serves as President of the Charis Foundation, a Nashville-based philanthropic organization, reflecting an active civic and faith-based community involvement in the Nashville area.
