Stuart Bright

Stuart Harvey Bright was born August 16, 1978, in College Station, Texas, and grew up in Dallas. He was a son of Clay Bright and a member of the fourth generation of the Bright family, the Dallas business dynasty founded by his grandfather, the late oilman and philanthropist H.R. "Bum" Bright — famously the owner of the Dallas Cowboys from 1984 to 1989. Stuart graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Southern Methodist University (SMU).

Professionally, Stuart served as CEO of Bright Equities, LLC, the private investment and wealth-management arm of the Bright Family Office, and sat on the board of Bright Industries, the family's real-estate development and homebuilding company (founded around 1950 and today run by Chris and Clay Bright). Bright Equities traces its principles back to the enterprise Bum Bright began building in 1948, and it now operates as a multi-family office serving select families, with subsidiaries including Bright Wealth Management and Bright Insurance Services. The firm is based in Lewisville, Texas, in the DFW metroplex.

Beyond business, Stuart was active in his community and in recovery advocacy: he chaired and served on the board of Drug Prevention Resources and served on the Lewisville ISD Community Budget Advisory Committee. He was an accomplished endurance athlete who completed an Ironman and multiple marathons, and enjoyed cycling, swimming, golf, hunting, and fishing. He was married to Heidi (2004) and had three children. Stuart Harvey Bright died on February 4, 2022.
