Background

Styv Solovjov is an Estonian finance professional who built his career in Baltic private equity and investment. He began in fintech/proptech at Estateguru.eu, an Estonian marketplace for real-estate-backed investments, and was a graduate of the Startup Wise Guys accelerator. He then worked as an analyst at Redgate Capital, an Estonian financial-advisory and investment-management house, before moving to the buy side.

From roughly 2018 to 2021 he was at Livonia Partners, a dedicated pan-Baltic private equity firm (founded 2015, based in Riga with a Tallinn presence), joining as an Analyst and working as a Private Equity Associate. His work centered on investment analysis and transaction execution, supporting portfolio companies, and proprietary deal sourcing in Estonia. He represented Livonia on the supervisory boards of Fenestra and Klaasimeister and served as board observer at Scoro. Livonia at the time managed its ~€83m Fund I (and an EIF co-investment fund), and has since raised a larger Fund II.

After his investing years, Solovjov moved into operating and IR roles within the Livonia/Baltic ecosystem — including a period as Chief Executive Officer of Fenestra AS, a Livonia portfolio company producing wood-aluminium windows and doors. He is currently Head of Investor Relations within the Strategy and Growth team at Inbank, a Tallinn-based licensed bank and fintech lender.

His education includes Coventry University London (Accounting & Finance for International Business, 2016–2017), the University College of Northern Denmark (AP in Financial Management), and the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance's Board Member Education Programme.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Operated within Livonia Partners' PE mandate: control and significant-minority stakes in established, cash-generative Baltic and Nordic mid-market companies, typically growth-buyout situations rather than early-stage bets.
  • Personally focused on proprietary deal sourcing in Estonia and on hands-on value creation — he sat on portfolio company boards rather than acting as a passive capital allocator.
  • Comfortable across sectors: his board/observer roles spanned industrial manufacturing (Fenestra — windows/doors; Klaasimeister — glass) and B2B software (Scoro).
  • Willing to co-invest at the venture/growth boundary alongside VCs — Livonia joined Scoro's Series B with venture investors while Solovjov was the deal's board observer.

Notable Investments

  • Scoro — Tallinn-based work-management SaaS. Livonia participated in Scoro's ~$16.4m Series B (led by Kennet Partners, with Inventure, Columbia Lake Partners and Tera Ventures); Solovjov was board observer (2018–2021).
  • Fenestra AS — Estonian manufacturer of wood-aluminium windows and doors; Livonia portfolio company where Solovjov held a supervisory board seat and later served as CEO.
  • Klaasimeister — Baltic glass/glazing manufacturer; Livonia portfolio company on whose supervisory board Solovjov represented the firm.
