Sumit Chhazed

Sumit Chhazed is a serial entrepreneur and operator-angel based in Bengaluru. He graduated from IIT Bombay in 2012 and has spent his career building and operating consumer and fintech businesses. As a student he co-founded Coursewave, an online learning/course-engagement platform, which was acquired by a Silicon Valley company in 2013. Earlier, around 2011, he was associated with Enelek Power, a solar-thermal systems venture. He was named to the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list.

Before founding his current company, Chhazed spent roughly three years as CEO of CredR, an online marketplace for used two-wheelers, where he scaled the business to serve over 100,000 customers and gained deep exposure to India's used- and new-vehicle financing ecosystem. That experience directly shaped his next venture.

In 2018 he co-founded OTO Capital (OTO) with Harsh Saruparia. OTO is a fintech-enabled e-commerce platform that aims to offer a "10x simpler" experience for buying, financing, and owning a two-wheeler in India, combining innovative loan/lease products with a digital purchase-and-resale journey. As Co-Founder and CEO he has raised multiple rounds for the company, including a $10M round led by GMO Venture Partners in February 2024. Alongside operating OTO, he is an active angel investor and advisor to several technology startups.
