Investment Thesis & Focus

- Boutros-Ghali’s stated lens is founder/team quality first: “success (or failure) is invariably determined by the quality of the entrepreneur, the team and their culture.”
- He favors “convergence,” which he defines as the fusion of multiple unrelated technologies to create new product or service opportunities; he argues these companies can have competitive advantages and produce outsized risk-adjusted returns.
- BOLD’s two stated investment areas are Health & Life Sciences and Deep Tech & Productivity.
- In health and life sciences, BOLD highlights longevity, patient-enabled health management, synthetic biology, and intelligent data collection/synthesis.
- In deep tech and productivity, BOLD points to AI, blockchain, sensors, VR, and 3D printing as technologies that can create personalized products and services faster and at lower cost.
