Background
Tim Trzebiatowski is a private-equity investor turned operator-owner whose career spans investment banking, buyout investing, and hands-on company leadership. He earned a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Wisconsin and began his career in investment banking at Robert W. Baird. From 2010 to 2012 he was on the investment team at CHS Capital LLC (formerly Code Hennessy & Simmons), a Chicago private-equity fund with over $2.5 billion under management, where he pursued buyout transactions and supported portfolio companies. He subsequently took an operating/corporate-development role as a senior executive at Dura-Line Holdings, a former CHS portfolio company that manufactures protective conduit for telecom, datacom, energy, and infrastructure markets.
In 2013 he joined The Stephens Group, LLC, the Little Rock, Arkansas private investment firm tied to the Stephens family. Over roughly eight years he rose to Managing Director and was instrumental in building out the firm's B2B food & beverage and consumer-products investment practice. He worked closely with partner companies including Westrock Coffee Company, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Revolution, and Spitzer Industries. He was formally promoted to Managing Director in the firm's July 2020 promotions announcement.
In April 2022 he left Stephens Group to join Shorehill Capital, a Chicago lower-middle-market private-equity firm, as a Managing Director on the investment team — reuniting with Dave Hawkins, Brian Simmons, and Rob Hogan, with whom he had worked at CHS Capital. At Shorehill he focused on equity investments in North American engineered industrial products, industrial services, and value-added distribution companies (EBITDA $3M–$15M), handling investment evaluation, execution, and portfolio management.
Most recently, in 2025 Tim co-founded XS Investment Partners, LLC, a family-owned private investment firm representing the interests of Scottie Johnson (founder/CEO of XS Power Batteries) and himself. The firm controls a family of battery, ultracapacitor, and mobile-audio brands — XS Power, Ioxus, Lithium Pros, TurboStart, and Sundown Audio, among others. In November 2025, XS Investment Partners acquired QuickCable Corporation (from Tonka Bay Equity Partners), and Tim took on the role of Chief Executive Officer of QuickCable while serving as Co-Founder & Managing Partner of XS Investment Partners.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Control buyouts, not venture/seed. Across CHS, Stephens Group, Shorehill, and now XS Investment Partners, his entire track record is in acquiring and operating established, cash-generative businesses — a direct contradiction of the "angel investor / seed round" stub classification.
- Industrial and manufacturing core. Engineered industrial products, electrical connectors and cable assemblies, batteries/energy storage, industrial services, and value-added distribution are his repeated themes.
- Operational-improvement orientation. His move into operating roles (Dura-Line executive, QuickCable CEO) signals a hands-on, value-creation-through-operations approach rather than purely financial investing. Shorehill, where he was an MD, frames itself as a "management-friendly buyer" relying on an Executive Advisor Network of ~70 sector experts.
- Platform-plus-add-on strategy. XS Investment Partners builds around a "family of brands," buying complementary businesses (e.g., QuickCable alongside XS Power, Ioxus, Lithium Pros) and letting them operate independently while sharing resources — a buy-and-build thesis in the power/energy ecosystem.
- Lower-middle-market sizing. Deals in the EBITDA $3M–$15M range (per Shorehill's stated mandate) plus add-ons of any size.
Notable Investments
- QuickCable Corporation — Domestic manufacturer of high-performance electrical connectors, cable assemblies, and specialized tools (Franksville, WI + Mississauga, Ontario). Acquired by XS Investment Partners from Tonka Bay Equity Partners, announced Nov 8, 2025; Tim serves as CEO.

- Westrock Coffee Company — Coffee, tea, and extracts company; a Stephens Group partner company he worked closely with (later public via SPAC, ticker WEST).
- Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams — Home furnishings brand; Stephens Group portfolio.
- Revolution — Plastics/sustainability company; Stephens Group portfolio.
- Spitzer Industries — Industrial fabrication/oilfield equipment manufacturer; Stephens Group portfolio.
- Shorehill portfolio (as MD, 2022–~2025) — Engaged with industrial holdings including Tribus Aerospace, Triad Technologies, Functional Devices, Flexpak, Power Grid Components, Belt Power, and Ascent Lifting.
