Background

Trevor Hugh Silver is a British real estate entrepreneur and the chairman of Landid and Landid Living. Landid’s own team page lists him as “Chairman – Landid” and “Chairman – Landid Living,” while Companies House records show him as a former director of Landid Holdco Limited and as the active person with significant control of Landid Holdco Limited, holding 75% or more of shares and voting rights.

Silver’s earlier career was at Akeler, where contemporary press described him as the company’s former chief executive and, in a 1998 Independent profile, as Akeler’s co-founder and “creative brain.” The same profile described him as a civil engineer who had designed hydro-electric systems in Western Samoa before returning to the UK and setting up Akeler with Mark Glatman roughly a decade earlier.

After Akeler, Silver and Stephen Morgan launched Landid in 2005. Early coverage described Landid as a new venture by former Akeler directors, and later reporting identified Landid as the development company established by Akeler’s former CEO Trevor Silver and director Stephen Morgan. Under Silver’s leadership, Landid became associated with office-led redevelopment and asset-management projects including The Ark in Hammersmith, The Charter Building in Uxbridge, Thames Tower in Reading, One Queen Caroline Street in Hammersmith, and Warner Bros.’ Leavesden studios site.

His public LinkedIn profile connected to Landid lists University of Dundee education from 1972 to 1976 and professional designations “BSc, CEng, MICE, MIWEM.” Because the verified record points to property development and asset management rather than venture investing, I did not treat the stub’s “Angel Investors / Seed Round” label as verified.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Landid’s stated model is to find challenges that hide opportunities, identify social, technical, cultural, and geographic trends, and turn those insights into distinctive, future-ready places.
  • The firm says its development experience covers more than 20 years and 14 million sq ft of project work across business parks, offices, logistics, studios, and hotels.
  • Landid focuses on occupier-led value creation: the firm says it designs around occupier care, long-term demand, and “healthy investor returns.”
  • Silver has repeatedly emphasized transport-connected workspace. Architect’s Journal described him in 2016 as targeting transport hubs for Landid’s office-led portfolio.
  • Sustainability and reuse are central to the firm’s positioning. Landid says it is working to minimise embodied carbon and highlights retaining and transforming existing buildings, including Thames Tower.
  • At DLA Piper’s 2024 Quo Vadis Italia real estate summit, Silver was quoted saying Landid asks of every project how it can be improved, made better for people, and have lower planetary impact.

Notable Investments

  • Thames Tower, Reading: Landid/Brockton redevelopment of a formerly empty 1970s tower opposite Reading station; Landid lists the completed project at 186,750 sq ft with BREEAM “Very Good,” WiredScore “Gold,” and EPC “B.”
  • The Charter Building, Uxbridge: 240,000 sq ft Landid/Brockton office redevelopment near Uxbridge station, created by stripping back and extending the former Coca-Cola UK headquarters.
  • One Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith: Landid/Brockton repositioning above Hammersmith tube station; reported tenants included A+E Networks and Kambi.
  • The Porter Building, Slough: Listed by Landid among its completed project stories and cited in 2016 coverage as one of three major Landid/Brockton office developments due for completion between late 2016 and 2017.
  • Warner Studios Hertfordshire / Leavesden: Landid is described by the Evening Standard as the development manager for the Warner Brothers Leavesden site, including offices, stages, and visitor attractions.
  • The Langfield, Victoria, London: Current Landid project combining two end-of-life office buildings into 80,000 sq ft of flexible workplace and public space, targeting BREEAM “Excellent” and EPC “A.”
  • Horizon Technology Park, Eynsham: Current Landid project in the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, described as a 163,762 sq ft mid-tech development for life sciences, engineering, and research-driven enterprises.
