Valdemaras Vaicekauskas

Valdemaras Vaičekauskas is a Lithuanian corporate-finance executive with more than 26 years in investment banking and board-level work. Since 2006 he has been CEO and Chairman of the Board of HORTUS Investment Banking, a boutique advisory firm he leads on overall strategy, and where he also runs training for business executives and provides shareholder consulting. Before Hortus, he chaired the investment-management holding "In Favorem" from 2002 to 2005.

His operating background predates his advisory career: in 1993 he founded the international logistics group "KRANTAS" as founder and CEO, growing it to more than €40 million in consolidated revenue and roughly 250 employees before selling it to the Danish transport group DFDS Seaways. From 2017 to 2026 he served as Chairman of AB "Smiltynės perkėla," the Klaipėda ferry operator connecting the city to the Curonian Spit.

He was educated as a Master of Engineering at the Merchant Marine Academy in St. Petersburg (1982–1988), and later completed executive programs in Strategic Management and Corporate Valuation at the Baltic Management Institute in Vilnius (2008–2009) and in Professional Board Membership at the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance (2011).

Beyond his firm, he is a member of the Lithuanian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance, Charter President of the Rotary Club "Maris," and co-founder of the Valdemaras and Irta family foundation supporting civil-society projects.
