Background
Vibhore Goyal is an IIT Bombay–trained engineer turned serial entrepreneur and angel investor based in Gurugram, India. He earned a Dual Degree (BTech + MTech) in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay, graduating in 2005 (class of 2000–2005). Immediately after graduating he spent roughly 13 months at Microsoft Research India, where he filed seven patents (six international) in mobile technologies and emerging-market applications. He was later named to *Inc.* Magazine's "30 Under 30" list.
His entrepreneurial career includes co-founding Babajob (a platform connecting blue-collar workers to jobs, with Sean Blagsveldt; later acquired by Quikr), and — most notably — co-founding CoCubes.com in April 2007 with his IIT Bombay batchmate Harpreet Singh Grover. CoCubes built an online assessment and campus-hiring platform used across India for entry-level recruitment. Goyal served as Co-Founder, Director, and Chief Technology Officer. CoCubes won recognition including Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2017 and NASSCOM Emerge 50, and was acquired by Aon Hewitt in November 2016 in an all-cash deal.
Goyal remained associated with CoCubes as CTO until around March 2019, at which point he launched his third venture, OneBanc Technologies, in Gurugram (2019). OneBanc is an AI-based digital/experiential payroll-banking platform that connects enterprises, banks, and HR-tech platforms; it has raised approximately $7.17M across four rounds from investors including Leo Capital, Info Edge Ventures, and Work Capital, and is trusted by RBI-regulated banks (ISO / PCI DSS / CERT-in compliant).
Beyond operating, Goyal is a published author: with co-founder Harpreet Singh Grover he wrote the bestselling entrepreneurship memoir *Let's Build a Company* (Penguin Random House India), chronicling the CoCubes journey. He continues to angel invest and sit on boards.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests as an operator-angel — a two-time exited founder (CoCubes → Aon; Babajob → Quikr) backing early-stage Indian startups, primarily at seed/early stage.
- Portfolio skews toward sectors he knows: EdTech/education, fintech, and travel & hospitality, plus consumer and SaaS technology.
- His public philosophy — "Don't make Plan B, make Plan A and give 100% to that" — signals a preference for all-in, conviction-driven founders.
- Primarily invests in India; a relatively concentrated portfolio (~4 disclosed companies) suggests selective, hands-on bets rather than high-volume angel spraying.
Notable Investments
- Wealthy — wealth-management / fintech platform; participated in its Series A round (Dec 4, 2024), his most recent disclosed investment.
- SpeakX — English-learning / EdTech startup; backed in its Seed VC round (Nov 26, 2020).
- *(Aggregators list a portfolio of ~4 companies across education, travel/hospitality and other sectors; only Wealthy and SpeakX are named in public sources.)*
