Vik Patel

Vik Patel is a Partner at Reshape, a boutique early-stage investment firm based in New York City (listed at 521 Broadway, 3rd Floor). Founded in 2015, Reshape has made 200+ investments in early-stage companies, with a heavy concentration in "tech-enabled companies that need real estate to scale" — spanning proptech, retail & e-commerce, healthcare, fintech, and food tech. Patel's specialty within the firm is real estate and proptech, a natural extension of his background as a real estate investor.

Before venture, Patel spent roughly five years in public-markets investment management focused on real estate. He began his career at Bank of America, first in investment banking (consumer & retail group) and then in equity research covering consumer, retail, gaming, and lodging. He moved to UBS as a REIT equity-research analyst, then to Cohen & Steers — the largest dedicated REIT mutual-fund manager — and finally to Millennium Management, one of the world's largest hedge funds, where he was a senior analyst co-managing a long/short portfolio. In 2016 he was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in Finance list for his hedge-fund work.

Patel holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he was a Feldberg Fellow. He has described personal interests including amateur boxing, fitness, travel, reading, and education volunteering.
