Wayne Fitzpatrick

Wayne Fitzpatrick is a finance executive with roughly three decades of experience across financial operations, technology, life sciences, and capital formation. He began his career on the technical side as a systems engineer at IBM and as a systems analyst at JP Morgan, which gave him early technology fluency. He then moved into investment banking, spending several years at Bank of America's securities subsidiary and at boutique firms, where he advised biotechnology and technology companies on M&A, capital raising, and financing strategy in both public and private markets. He holds a bachelor's degree from Trinity College and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business (1994–1996).

Fitzpatrick is best known as the founding CFO of Bulger Partners, a Boston-based, diversified advisory firm (founded 2009) that operated a FINRA-member broker-dealer, made mid-stage investments in fintech and healthcare IT, and provided technology benchmarking and diligence to leading private-equity firms. Over roughly a decade there he built and ran the firm's operational backbone — developing every major operational policy, overseeing finance, facilities, IT, and HR, managing the finances of the firm's investment/growth-equity funds, leading investor relations for those funds, overseeing the operational side of Bulger's expansion into Europe, and effectively serving as de facto in-house counsel. Bulger Partners' software-strategy business was ultimately absorbed into EY-Parthenon.

Since Bulger, Fitzpatrick has worked as a fractional and consulting CFO. He was CFO at supply-chain SaaS company Solvoyo, is Principal of his own practice, Fortro CFO Consulting (Fortro Consulting Group), and currently serves as a Consulting CFO with Venture Growth Partners (VGP), a firm that places fractional CFOs, COOs, and M&A advisors. In these roles he has supported SaaS businesses in supply chain and fintech, streamlining financial operations, building financial models and reporting for internal and external stakeholders, and advising on strategic transactions.
