Yao Ge

Yao Ge is a Partner and head of NGP Capital's China office, based in Shanghai. She first joined NGP Capital in 2011 as an investment professional, where she was instrumental in sourcing a number of high-profile Chinese technology companies. She rejoined NGP Capital as a Partner in January 2019 after a period away from the firm, and has since led its China presence, reportedly spending more than half her time traveling between China, the US, and Europe.

Before returning to NGP Capital, Yao was a founding partner at Atlas Capital. Earlier in her career she served as a Managing Director at Nanshan Capital — a China-focused cultural and technology investment institution — and worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. In total she has more than ten years of experience spanning venture investing and corporate strategy.

Yao holds a Master's degree in Finance from Peking University's Guanghua School of Management and a Master's degree in International Business from Grenoble École de Management in France. She earned a double Bachelor's degree in Economics and Arts from Peking University. In March 2022 she was named one of the year's "Most Noteworthy Female Investors in China" (recognition covered by Entrepreneurship / 创业邦).
