Background

Yossi Moldawsky is a veteran of the Israeli high-tech ecosystem with roughly two decades of investing experience, having worked with dozens of startups from inception through profitability, M&A, and IPO. He is co-owner of the family-run Moldawsky Group, where he heads the high-tech division, and he co-founded the group's venture arm, PLUS Ventures, which describes itself as one of the most active early-stage technology investors in Israel with a portfolio of 35+ companies. He has also co-founded Samurai Ventures and the licensed technology incubator Explore.Dream.Discover., and was reported to be establishing HomeRun Ventures, positioned as one of Israel's first sports-tech-focused funds.

Academically, Moldawsky holds an LLB from Bar-Ilan University and an MBA from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He is a lecturer on entrepreneurship and innovation at academic institutions and has served as Chief Mentor at StarTau, Tel Aviv University's entrepreneurship center, as well as a mentor across accelerator programs run by Microsoft Ventures, IBM, Samsung, Citibank, and others.

Beyond investing, Moldawsky sits on the board of Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI), where he represents the early-stage investor community. He is also active in sports management — serving as Co-Owner and Vice Chairman of the Maccabi Rishon LeZion basketball club — and has appeared as a sports-tech commentator on Israeli television. He is widely recognized as one of Israel's leading angel investors.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests at the earliest stages — pre-seed, seed, seed+, and Series A — favoring established founding teams building a real product.
  • Initial checks typically run $250K–$500K (overall range ~$100K–$1M), often as the first money into a company.
  • Operates through multiple vehicles, including "Plus Seed" (for product development with established teams) and "Plus Express" (an angel fund built for fast access to capital).
  • Sector-agnostic within tech and media, but historically strong in enterprise/SaaS, AI, fintech, consumer, and media; growing interest in sports-tech.
  • Hands-on approach: works closely with founders to navigate challenges and scale, leaning on the Moldawsky Group's network and resources.
  • Prioritizes Israeli or Israeli-connected ventures while remaining open to select international deals.
